Happy the Day After the Day After My Birthday

My birthday was on Monday (the U.S. celebrated with me!) but we didn't really celebrate as I spent all day doing errands that were ignored over the weekend and was T-I-R-E-D. Also, Melita practiced the conga all day which resulted in the worse heartburn I have ever experienced. I met friends out for drinks and thought I was going to puke the entire time. I suffered through and last night Reagan surprised me with an ice cream cake!

My favorite part of the cake is that it was obviously left over from Valentine's Day. What gave it away? The red and white frosting with the heart decorations AND the 20% off sticker plastered to the side of the box! Reagan has always been romantic in his own special way. Only a frugal girl like me can appreciate killing two birds with one stone.

We did spend Saturday at the beach in Corpus Christi which was nice and relaxing. The drive wasn't too pleasant as I am not very comfortable in the car. But it was gorgeous weather, although a little windy, and Bungy got to get his feet wet. So all in all not a very eventful birthday, but it was a good one none the less.

Photos Upon Request

The new chaise lounge purchased from cb2.com. It was the best online shopping experience I have ever had. The pillows are from IKEA. The lounge opens up into a double bed.

Bumpers and sheets and toys, oh my! So far, this is Melita's crib. Tickle Me Cookie Monster was given to me by Reagan when we first started dating. Memories! The quilt, pillow, and bumper are from IKEA.

Still Alive. Still Pregnant. The End.

I was hoping that today would have been more exciting than it turned out to be. I was summoned for jury duty in Municipal Court (city court). Since I already know the workings of District Court (where felonies are handled), I was looking forward to seeing how another part of our local government worked. And, also, to having fodder to talk about here. Alas, it was not meant to be. After reporting for my civic duty and standing around for almost 2 hours, they excused us as all of the defendants had accepted a plea bargain. This means no exciting news to report about the crazy locals of NBTX.

What I can report is that Reagan and I got a new chaise lounge. And there are sheets, and bumpers, and quilts in Melita's crib. That's about all of the excitement happening in the Chunn house.

However, to celebrate my 34th birthday we are going to Corpus Christi. Surely there will be something to talk about after we return home...

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's a Hard Dog's Life

Bungy and Reagan had just returned home from their nightly bike ride (Reagan rides the bike and Bungy runs). Somebody's tired:

And further proof that I have a lazy eye that is especially noticeable when I am tired and not just because I am saucy:

Apparently cooking a baby is tiring work.
