Month Eight

I think it is rather fitting that I am 8 days late in posting about Melita's eighth month. I like the number 8 and incidentally this so far has been my favorite month with Melita.

She is just the right mixture of independent spirit and cuddly baby. Her curiosity about the world is inspiring. But also, I am more tired than I have ever thought possible. She is not walking, but she is more adept than ever at using the furniture and walls to cruise around the house. Like her mother, this kid never sits still. If she is awake she is moving. Which means that Reagan and I spend most of our awake time chasing her around.

Also, this month Melita has truly started to enjoy bath time. She swims around and plays with her toys and makes a wet mess. Reagan is the one who usually gives her a bath and it's fun to watch them interact with one another. I can't wait for warmer weather so we can take her swimming because I think her head will explode from all of the fun!

Happy Eight Months Moo!

Especially for Jessica

Inspecting her Otter Pop.

Liking her Otter Pop.

I know they're not the most nutritious snack, but they're cheap and clever. Today Melita tried (and loved) her very first Otter Pop. She has never cried when she has dropped food on the floor before, but today she cried when she dropped her Otter Pop. Also, because I am not a masochist, I am limiting her to HALF an Otter Pop a day. I do have a little bit of sanity in this brain.
