A Day of Firsts

Today after school, Melita had her first 'Fudgesicle' and her first wash off with the hose. These are reasons A & B that I became a mom.

Rockport or Bust

This past weekend, we decided to go to the beach with two other couples and their kids. It was beyond relaxing and well overdue. I think that we need to keep reminding ourselves that Texas beaches are only a couple of hours away. This was Melita's first trip to the beach where she could actually play in the water and the sand. She had an amazing time. And so did her parents. We love Texas.

A Break from Parenting

On a random Saturday night, after my parents asked to have a sleep-over with Melita, Reagan and I got to hang out with some of our childless friends and get back to basics.

Beer pong anyone?

A Friendly Visit

Before we undertook the renovating of the backyard, our dear friend Crystal came and visited us for a few evenings. We had the pleasure of meeting Crystal and her (now) husband Andre while we were living in Germany. We had visited Crystal and Andre while they were living in Florida and since Melita was born. By the way, Melita absolutely loves Andre.

Anyway, recently Crystal and Andre had the opportunity to return back to Germany. We were very sad. But then Crystal had to visit San Antonio for work and then we were happy again. We did miss Andre though.

We love you Crystal and Andre!

D.I.Y. Update

Despite the silence over here, we (actually Reagan-but I am in charge of toddler wrangling!) have been working on our backyard lately. If you remember from way back in 2007, we have an extra large backyard with tons of potential. So after 2.5 years we decided to get moving. Our ETF (estimated time to finish) is for Melita's 2nd birthday party in June. I think we might make it!
